Building the hydrogen network

As we build the national hydrogen network, we reuse existing natural gas pipelines wherever we can. Where this is not an option, we install new hydrogen pipelines. Find out more about how we reuse existing natural gas pipelines, install new hydrogen pipelines and always put safety first.

Reusing existing natural gas pipelines

A large part of the hydrogen network is made up of existing Gasunie natural gas pipelines. Before reusing these pipelines, we inspect them and, where necessary, modify them so they can be used to transport hydrogen.
