On the 5th of August, the Brabants Dagblad published an interview with Joost de Wijs, Community Relations Manager for the Hydrogen Network Eastern Netherlands. Kirsten Rietbergen, journalist of Brabants Dagblad, asked Joost seven questions about the project and what it means for Oss and the surrounding area.

The main pipeline will run from Ommen to Boxtel, passing directly through the municipality of Oss. A compressor station will be located near Ravenstein.

Joost responded to the question whether Oss will notice the construction: "Actually, I expect that Oss will hardly notice anything. Because existing pipelines are being reused, Gasunie expects very little disruption for residents and businesses. Almost all work will take place at Gasunie sites." Marie-Lou Gregoire, spokesperson for Gasunie, added: "Even though these sites are fenced off, we will still keep the surrounding community informed about what we are doing."

Alderman Kees van Geffen, who is responsible for the energy transition in Oss, said about the Hydrogen NetworkEastern Netherlands: "It is a tremendous opportunity for the local economy. Once hydrogen starts flowing through the pipeline to several large companies, others will follow. It's great to be at the forefront of this development."
