Working together on the new hydrogen pipeline to be laid in the western Netherlands
We recently organised two working sessions about the new hydrogen pipeline that will be laid in the western Netherlands. Together with more than 50 representatives from the province, municipalities, water boards, cable and pipeline owners and other stakeholders, we looked at the possible routes for the new-build section of the hydrogen pipeline. Juanne Rours, regional manager for the project, briefly explains what the working sessions produced.
Valuable information
‘Those sessions gave us a huge amount of valuable information’, Juanne says. ‘We discussed spatial developments, bottlenecks and areas of concern along the possible routes. We also looked at the opportunities available along the various routes.’ All that information will be taken into account and will serve as a major basis for the further development of the project plans.
Juanne: ‘It’s also good that stakeholders now have a better understanding of one another’s concerns. We hope this will lead to greater understanding of the choices we make. This is how we are slowly working together to establish a definitive route for the new-build part of our project. A summary of the working sessions will be added to the participation report at a later date, so that others can also see what information we have gathered.’

A working session like this takes almost an entire day, so it requires quite a bit of time from the participants. Juanne: ‘We really appreciate that so many people took the time to participate. We therefore want to thank everyone who contributed their ideas and input.’
