Wherever possible, we make use of existing infrastructure, while maintaining the highest standards of safety and minimising our impact on the surrounding environment. In doing so, we are helping to ensure a reliable energy supply, both now and in the future. Valve Study Agreement Regional public and private parties (such as local and provincial authorities, port authorities and network operators) can enter into an agreement and the associated financial obligations with Hynetwork for the development and implementation of a connection set-up for future hydrogen developments in the region. This is called a Valve Study Agreement (VSA). Advisers Ayhan Yazgili Energy and infrastructure companies want to accelerate hydrogen corridor between the Netherlands and Germany Market parties and transmission system operators from the Netherlands and Germany want accelerated cross-border hydrogen infrastructure to connect Dutch hydrogen production and import with German industry. To reinforce its importance, Dutch and German infrastructure companies, energy companies and governments today signed agreements in Duisburg on developing a hydrogen corridor between the Netherlands and Germany and its use. Gerben van Dijk test GASGAS-1202 Historic agreement signed for world’s first liquid hydrogen import corridor between Oman, the Netherlands, and Germany A groundbreaking Joint Development Agreement (JDA) has been signed to establish the world’s first liquid hydrogen import corridor, connecting the Sultanate of Oman, the Netherlands, and Germany. This corridor will link the port of Duqm in Oman, the port of Amsterdam in the Netherlands, and key logistics hubs in Germany, including the port of Duisburg in Germany, enabling the commercial-scale import of renewable fuel of non-biological origin (RFNBO) compliant liquid hydrogen to Europe. The agreement was signed during the state visit by His Majesty the Sultan of Oman to the Netherlands. Building the new hydrogen pipeline through agricultural land in the Western Netherlands: agreements, studies and compensation How will the construction of a new hydrogen pipeline affect agricultural land? That is what farmers wanted to know after we presented our initial plans for the Hydrogen Network Western Netherlands project. The farmers had questions about yield losses, permanent damage to the soil and compensation. We spoke to Roburt Honkoop, Land Affairs Adviser at Hynetwork, about these concerns and questions. Community plays an important role in determining the route of the hydrogen network in the North Sea Canal Area After approximately two years of planning, conducting numerous studies, engaging in discussions, and gathering ideas from the community, a preferred route (Preferred Alternative) for the hydrogen network in the North Sea Canal Area has been established. This milestone in the development of the hydrogen network in the North Sea Canal Area has been achieved through effective collaboration with the local community. Kees van der Laan, a resident of Beverwijk, has been closely involved in the project. Together with Zhen Zhen Zheng, Strategic Regional Manager for the hydrogen network in the North Sea Canal Area, Kees discusses the collaboration and why it is crucial for the local community to remain engaged with the project. Online information session Hynetwork together with the Ministry of Economic Affairs is organising an online information session for (future) customers. In this session we will provide updates on the latest developments related to Hydrogen network Netherlands. Online informatiesessie Watch the recording of the online information session On 4 July, Hynetwork together with the Ministry of Economic Affairs organised an online information session for (future) customers. Pipelines manufactured and delivered for Hydrogen Network Rotterdam When you are working on the energy transition, you should do that work as sustainably as possible. That was the philosophy of Hynetwork Services technical project manager Ronald Pieters when he started purchasing the pipes for Hydrogen Network Rotterdam. A year ago, the procurement process was started ‘because the pipes can’t be bought off the shelf’, Ronald recalls. Now they are ready for the next step in realising Hydrogen Network Rotterdam: construction. We spoke to Ronald about the purchase and delivery of the hydrogen pipes. Plans for Groningen’s part of the national hydrogen network to be presented to the community On Thursday 9 December, Gasunie and the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy (EZK) will announce our plans for the realisation of the hydrogen network in Groningen. We will do that via the publication ‘Intention and Proposal for Participation’. We would like to present these plans to the community, so we will organise several walk-in evenings for local residents and other interested parties. There, we will explain what is planned, how we would like to keep them informed, and how they can participate. The national hydrogen network should significantly reduce CO2 emissions from industry in Groningen and the rest of the Netherlands. ‘Construction of the hydrogen backbone gives companies confidence’ The business community in the Rotterdam port area is making an effort to switch from fossil energy and raw materials to alternatives. Deltalinqs entrepreneurs’ association is pleased with the investment in the hydrogen pipeline right through the port area. “It shows companies that they mean business.” Plans announced for the hydrogen pipeline in the western Netherlands On Friday 4 April 2025, Hynetwork and the Ministry of Climate Policy and Green Growth announced plans for an underground hydrogen pipeline in the western Netherlands.
